Great News!!!

Board members of Macomb Project H.O.P.E. Inc. NFP are pleased to announce that we received notification today from the Internal Revenue Service that we are now a 501c3 tax exempt organization!!!  Yeah!!! We’ve been waiting for this determination since July of 2013 and are now able to give donors a charitable contribution statement upon request. We also can qualify to be a member organization with area food banks. We are so excited about the possibility of partnering with them to bring more food into the community for those in need. Another wonderful development today is that we are now able to take credit cards at H.O.P.E. Community Thrift Store. It’s been a long time coming and we thank patrons for their patience. Good things are happening at H.O.P.E. Be sure to stop by and check out all the new merchandise and services we offer. Don’t forget we are all about food, friendship, and hope as we serve in God’s marketplace!!

Gardening Season is Here!!!

Garden time has finally arrived!! Do you know of someone who would be willing to plant some extra vegetables to give away  at Project H.O.P.E.? We had tomatoes, sweet corn, cucumbers, etc. to give away last year. It is such a wonderful feeling to be able to pass this produce on to those in need. Also, do you know of someone who has a fruit tree that doesn’t want the fruit? We would be willing to come pick any fruit (or vegetables) so that it will not go to waste. Just let us know so that we can add their names and contact information to our network of “Harvest” partners! Call Lois or Rhonda at 309-255-5920. Thanks!

Donations Needed

Please help support your local charity!! We are in need of donations, particularly stuffed animals and knick knacks. Donations are accepted any time that the store is open: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Garage sale and estate sale left-overs welcome! Contact us to see if we can arrange to pick them up, but we would really appreciate it if you can deliver them to the store! Just check in with the cashier so that we can assist you! Call 309-255-5920 if you have questions!

Many Thanks!

Macomb Project H.O.P.E. Inc. NFP would like to thank businesses, churches, volunteers, individuals, and staff for their help in making 2013 a memorable and prosperous one. HOPE would also like to thank their many customers who have supported H.O.P.E. Community Thrift Store, thereby, enabling the charity to fund several benevolent programs. Profits from the thrift store as well as donations from the community continue to support The Harvest, a client-choice food pantry based on volunteering in the area. In addition, we have been able to give money and items to several other local worthwhile organizations. We are looking forward to serving  you in 2014!!!

H.O.P.E. Grows

Project H.O.P.E. is pleased to announce the expansion of their thrift store located at 119 W. Carroll Street in Macomb. Additional showrooms have been added which feature a linen room with sheets, bath & kitchen items, pillows, bedspreads, comforters, and a section of small appliances. The second room addition to the thrift store is a ladies winter apparel room. This area allows for year round sales of long sleeved tops, winter pants, and dresses. The store will also maintain a room of ladies summer apparel as well as youth and children’s clothing. We have also added a men’s winter room that features  long sleeved shirts, athletic pants, caps, winter scarves & gloves and  dress pants. Don’t miss this great improvement ! (Be sure to follow the signs to this area down the zigzag hall at the back of the thrift store.)
